Bridal Skin Prep: Tried-and-True Essentials for a Radiant Wedding Day
Kristina here, co-founder of Vitaclean! These products helped me keep my skin radiant and fresh throughout my wedding weekend. My number one tip for maintaining healthy, glowing skin is to filter your water. Unfiltered water contains chlorine, dirt, and rust, which can dry out, irritate, and disrupt your skin barrier—not just on your face, but on your scalp and the rest of your body as well. By filtering out these impurities, you give your skin the best chance to stay hydrated and calm, especially during big events like a wedding when you want to look and feel your best.
I do have some discount codes for a few of the products I love, so feel free to use them!
1. Vitaclean Shower Head Filter
My number one recommendation for maintaining hydrated, radiant skin is to filter your water. The Vitaclean shower filter removes chlorine, rust, and dirt that can dry out and irritate your skin. Using this filter was essential for me, especially leading up to my wedding. It helps keep your skin soft, your hair shiny, and ensures you’re not battling dryness from the start. 2. The Skinny Confidential Ice Roller
A wedding weekend or big event can stir up all kinds of emotions—tears, late nights, and so much excitement (plus maybe a few extra glasses of champagne). This ice roller is a must-have for depuffing your face the morning of your big day. It helps reduce inflammation, tightens your pores, and gives you that fresh, ready-to-glow look after a long night.
This mask is one of my favorite go-to treatments. It helps smooth fine lines and gives your skin an extra boost of radiance. I used this regularly leading up to my wedding, and it worked wonders for my overall glow. (Use code kristinavelkova for $40 off!)
4. Micellar Water
A gentle yet effective cleanser is key when you’re wearing makeup all day. I like Bioderma or Garnier’s Micellar Water. It removes makeup, dirt, and oil without irritating or drying your skin, making it perfect for sensitive skin or those long wedding days when you need something reliable to refresh your face.
5. Clearstem Skincare Hydra Berry Mask
This hydrating mask was a game-changer for my skin leading up to my wedding. It’s packed with antioxidants that nourish and revitalize your skin, giving it that healthy, dewy glow. I loved using the Hydra Berry Mask as part of my bridal prep to keep my skin feeling fresh and looking radiant.
6. Sonya Dakar Flash Facial
If you're traveling for your wedding like I did or don’t have access to your usual facials, the Sonya Dakar Flash Facial is a lifesaver. It sloughs off dead skin in just 60 seconds and gives your face an instant glow. It’s perfect for cleaning out your pores after wearing makeup all weekend in the heat or after a long night of dancing and sweating!
7. Monthly Facials at Glow Bar NYC
Regular facials leading up to my wedding helped keep my skin in top shape. Glow Bar NYC offers amazing monthly facials that give your skin that extra refresh it needs. It’s a great way to maintain clear, glowing skin leading up to the big day.

8. Leland Francis Eye and Lip Balm
I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect eye balm for years, and I finally found it. This balm not only hydrates the delicate area under my eyes but also helps reduce the appearance of fine lines with its ultra-hydrating, non-irritating formula. I have very sensitive under-eye skin, so many products either sting slightly or don’t offer lasting hydration. This one has been a game-changer for me—it’s gentle and truly effective.
9. Castor Oil for Brows
I’ve been using castor oil on my brows for the past year. I pour the oil into an empty mascara tube I got from Amazon and apply it to my eyebrows every night. Over time, I’ve noticed that my brows look fuller and healthier.
10. Biodance Overnight Collagen Mask
This actually gave me glass-skin while you sleep. This mask locks in moisture, boosts collagen production, and helps you wake up with soft, plump, glowing skin.
